SLIDE SHOW: New class of Black Male Scholars receive yard signs

A group of Black Male Scholars program teachers traveled around town delivering yard signs to 19 new scholars for the 2023-24 school year on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023. The Bowling Green Junior High School program, now in its third year, has expanded to include young men in sixth, seventh and eighth grades and aims to provide curriculum and content taught through the lens of African American history and culture supplemented with field trips and frequent guest speakers, as well as provide social and emotional group sessions with a licensed therapist, transition and career interest activities and a sense of belonging for students with mentoring and caregiver support.
